Hi welcome to my website, on here you will find photo diaries of my work from Vintage restorations to new custom builds and everything in between I am in the process of adding content. My aim is to share my experiences and help others to understand their instruments and hopefully solve some problems for you along the way, whilst building a comprehensive site which will help you to keep your guitar playing and sounding the way you want it to.

I started tinkering with guitars when I was fifteen, many years ago, when I bought a bass that had a few issues, I worked as a musician for the last 25 years and have upgraded, set up and repaired guitars along the way, until I finally got myself a workshop where I could build my own guitars.

I built my first scratch build about 6 years ago, from a single piece of oak that was given to me by an old guy named Ron who runs a timber yard in Essex, it must have been out of an old Barn or building it was about 3 inches thick and a foot and a half wide had wood worm and dry rot on the ends, but when i milled it down i found a beautiful, piece of wood with the heart wood running right through the middle, it fascinates me that the center of this guitar probably started life when Henry Viii was a young boy, and the history it has seen through its long life, and here i am playing it, being Oak it is very heavy although thin and is extremely bright sounding.

Ive studied countless hours of on line video tutorials and have found some excellent teachers and some others who are more about Voodoo and self promotion, I will only put links on here to sites I have learned from and come to trust through my own replication of their work. and verified findings by my own trials.
